China likely to unveil agricultural water price reform scheme in May, report
BEIJING, Apr. 20 (Xinhua) -- China is expected to roll out opinions and scheme on reform of the agricultural water price in May, the Economic Information Daily reported on Monday.
Meanwhile, in order to promote reform on the water right transactions, a state-level water right exchange led by the Ministry of Water Resources will be established within the year, according to the report.
At present, the pilot reform of agricultural water price in 80 counties is under way. The reform aims to form a payment mechanism encouraging least water consumption among farmers, said the report. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, email@example.com)
