Ford Q1 wholesale sales in China up 9.4 pct on year at 296,825 units

BEIJING, Apr. 9 (Xinhua) -- The American automaker Ford Motor Company recorded 296,825 units of automobiles for wholesale in China in the first three months of this year, and the figure grew 9.4 percent year on year.

In a breakdown, 218,487 units were sold by Changan Ford Automobile Co., Ltd., Ford's joint venture with Changan Automobile Co., Ltd.. The figure was 11.9 percent more than in the same period of 2014.

Meanwhile, 70,582 units were sold by Jiangling Motors Co. (000550.SZ), in which Ford holds a 32.07 percent stake. The figure was 5.2 percent more than in the year-earlier period.

In March, Ford sold 104,842 automobiles in China, up one percent year on year.   (Edited by Li Xiaoyu, Lixy@xinhua.org)
