China's Q1 GDP growth estimated at 6.85 pct, state think-tank
BEIJING, Mar.23 (Xinhua) -- China's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow around 6.85 percent on a yearly basis in the first quarter of this year, according to a quarterly report published by China's top government think tank Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) on Sunday.
The CASS said in the report that the country's first-quarter economy has been greatly impacted by waning fixed-asset investment and industrial declines, adding that growth in services sector, however, has picked up.
Chinese economic growth is to go stable in the second quarter based on assumptions that more pro-growth measures will help lower downturn risks to the economy, the report showed. (Edited by Ding Lei, email@example.com)
