Dow Chemical, CAAS sign R&D MOU to accelerate rice technology development
SHANGHAI, Mar. 23 (Xinhua) -- Dow AgroSciences, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dow Chemical Corp., has signed a cooperation memorandum (MOU) with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) to accelerate rice technology development, Dow Chemical said on Monday.
According to the MOU, the two parties will discuss technology licensing issues. Dow AgroSciences will provide the CAAS with patent licensing of EXZACTM technology platform and tool pack, and they will also cooperate in research projects according to the two parties' R&D targets.
The EXZACTTM technology platform will allow the CAAS researchers to use the already existing international advanced fruits in the fields of rice genetics, transcriptomics, proteomics, cell biology and molecular breeding to speed up developing the rice varieties with better quality.
