China begins to solicit public opinions on air pollution control scheme
BEIJING, Mar. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and other relevant administrations have begun to solicit public comments on an air pollution control plan, which is a national key research and development program.
At present, the project has entered the stage of formulating the implementing scheme, which includes the significance, development trend, basis, overall target and main tasks of the project. The MOST issued the plan's draft on Monday to solicit opinions.
According to the plan, the project will support to solve the air pollution problems of controlling haze and photochemical smog, strengthen the top-level design of scientific and technological work for air pollution control, improve the R&D achievement sharing mechanism, and organize the research in air pollution formation mechanism, influence, monitoring and early warning technologies, high-efficient control technologies, air quality improvement technologies and strategies.
The project will boost the application and industrialization of advanced and suitable R&D fruits, to provide basic theory and technological supports to air pollution control in different stages and different areas. (Edited by Li Xiaoyu, Lixy@xinhua.org)
