China's IT consumption to hit 3.2 trln yuan in 2015: MIIT
BEIJING, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- China's IT consumption is expected to reach 3.2 trillion yuan in 2015, growing about 15 percent year on year, according to an article published on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Thursday.
China's IT consumption amounted to 2.8 trillion yuan in 2014, up 18 percent year on year. Its contribution to GDP reached about 0.8 percentage point.
According to the article, IT consumption has become an important engine for the macro economic growth. It says the MIIT will continue to boost IT consumption projects and applications of new-generation IT and communication technologies, including Internet of Things, big data and cloud computing.
It is believed IT consumption will create more new business models and commercial activities, and will play a more significant role in ensuring steady growth, promoting reform, adjusting structure and improving people's livelihood. (Edited by Li Xiaoyu, Lixy@xinhua.org)
