China to issue air pollutant emission criteria for textile, dyeing industry
BEIJING, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) - Chinese authorities have been formulating the Air Pollutant Emission Criteria for the Textile and Dyeing Industry and expect to release the guidelines within this year in which the existing local standards will be used as important reference, China Securities Journal reported on Tuesday.
Industry insiders reckon that the forthcoming criteria will urge dyeing companies to make greater investment in environmental protection, small- and medium-sized firms will be under greater pressure in environmental protection, some unqualified firms may quit the market and the industry will concentrate further.
China's State Council, or the cabinet, issued in September 2013 the Action Plans to Prevent and Combat Air Pollution, which stressed controlling industrial waste gases of a number of industries, in which the textile and dyeing industry is involved.
