China's electronics, IT manufacturing sees foreign trade down 1.9 pct in Jan-Oct
BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- China's electronics and IT manufacturing industry saw its total export and import value hit 1,067.6 billion US dollars in the first ten months of 2014, down 1.9 percent year on year.
The decrease was 1.4 percentage points smaller than in the first nine months of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced on Monday evening.
In a breakdown, the export value of electronics and IT manufacturing products was 632.6 billion dollars, dropping 0.3 percent year on year and accounting for 33.2 percent of China's total export value. The decrease was 1.5 percentage points smaller than in the first nine months of this year.
The import value reached 435 billion dollars, declining 4.2 percent year on year and accounting for 26.7 percent of China's total import value. The decrease was 1.3 percentage points smaller than in Jan.-Sept. 2014.
In October, the export value grew 12.8 percent year on year to 73.6 billion dollars, and the import value grew 7.8 percent year on year to 46.9 billion dollars. (Edited by Li Xiaoyu, Lixy@xinhua.org)
