Guangzhou mulls China's first local regulations on light pollution treatment
BEIJING, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) - Guangzhou Environmental Protection Bureau has released the draft regulations of light radiation on environment to solicit public opinions, according to a report by Economic Information Daily on Monday.
The draft sets restrictions on glass curtain wall, city road lighting, landscape lighting as well as outdoor advertising, and it is expected to become China's first local regulations on light pollutions if it is passed and implemented, according to the report.
Guangzhou had received 34 complaints over light pollution during 2009-2013, and 70 complaint cases from the beginning of 2013 to March of 2014, according to statistics by Guangzhou Environmental Protection Bureau. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, email@example.com)
