China simplifies approval procedures for six areas in energy sector

BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) - The State Council, China's cabinet, released on Monday a document to cancel and adjust approval procedures for 58 items in which 6 energy items are included.

The six items cover hydropower projects, cross-regional grid power transmission and distribution price, grid connection of power generation units and coalbed methane (CBM) product planning.

The completion inspection and acceptance procedures for major hydropower station projects as well as state approved hydropower projects will be carried out by provincial energy administrative departments while review on cross-regional grid power transmission and distribution price will be cancelled, according to the release on the government website www.gov.cn.

Also, China will cancel approval procedures for the use of technology R&D special fund, industry fund in the energy sector, cancel the review when power units enter and exit commercial operations, cancel safety evaluations for power units' grid connection, and cancel the CBM commercial product distribute planning, according to the release.
