China's ministry strengthens quota management for water use in irrigation
BEIJING, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) – China's Ministry of Water Resources will timely revise water use quotas for irrigation and in the meantime strengthen the use of the quotas to promote water-saving irrigation, the ministry said on Wednesday.
According to the ministry's guidelines on intensifying quota management for water use in irrigation, the quotas will be revised every five years and will be efficiently used to guide planning of farmland water conservancy, push forward water-saving irrigation and serve as major basis for water licensing and water-resource argumentation.
Industry insiders say that the guidelines are expected to benefit the leading water-saving facilities-related companies including Xinjiang Tianye (600075.SH), Gansu Yasheng Industrial (600108.SH), Leo Group (002131.SZ), Gansu Dayu Water-Saving (300021.SZ), Anhui Water Resources Development (600502.SH) and Ningxia Qinglong Pipes Industry (002457.SZ).
