Hearsay: Chinese copper smelters, BHP agree to cut TC/RC by 3.5pct for H2
BEIJING, June 13 (Xinhua) – Hearsay goes on Friday that at least one large Chinese copper smelter has reached an agreement with the global miner BHP Billiton on the copper treatment and refining charges (TC/RCs) for the second half of 2014.
Under the agreement, the TC/RCs for the second half of 2014 will be cut by 3.5 percent, which means that the TC/RCs in the period of July-December stand at 95.5 US dollars per metric ton (tonne) and 9.55 cents per pound.
The TC/RCs for the first half of 2014 were 99 US dollars/tonne and 9.9 cents/pound. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, email@example.com)
